Admission Policy

Admission to CCA is not on the basis of race, color, or ethnic origin; however, the academy maintains the right to refuse admittance to anyone who fails to meet entrance requirements.

For the next school year
Student application must be filled out completely and submitted together with a $50 processing fee and the following documentation:

International Applicants:

•  A copy of the birth certificate and passport
•  Transcript from previous school for a minimum of the previous three years.


PLEASE NOTE:
Students coming from Latin American countries may be required to provide complete original academic records that have been issued an Apostille through the Panamanian consulate in the country of residence.

•  If applicable, special needs assessment
•  Completed Director form from the current school
•  2 completed teacher recommendation forms from
current school
•  Up-to-date immunization records


Local applicants and all applicants that will continue their education in Panama: If the applicant desires a Panamanian diploma in addition to the American diploma, the following documents must be provided.

•  original certificado de nacimiento para uso escolar
•  �Registro Acádemico Acumulativo�

PLEASE NOTE: students who desire to continue their education in Panama will be required to provide complete original academic records that have been issued an Apostille through the Panamanian consulate in the country of residence. Then, these records must be submitted to the ministry of education in Panama to register the student at the ministry of education.

•  If applicable special needs assessment
•  Completed Director form from the current school
•  2 completed teacher recommendation forms from
current school
•  Up-to-date immunization records


Admissions Criteria

All applicants parents/Guardian's must agree to have their child taught in the context of CCA's statement of faith. Students with special educational needs are generally not accepted into the school.


International Applicants

A) Pre-K Applicants

•  Must be 4 years of age by September 30th.
   This cut-off date will be valid for one more year: The 2012-
   2013 school year.

   New cut-off date effective for all 2013-2014 applicants:
   Student must be 4 years old by September 1st.

•  Must be potty trained
•  Pre-K applicants must be evaluated for their readiness to learn

B) Kindergarten - 10th grade Applicants

•  Must be Proficient in English
•  Must pass an academic examination and interview

C) 11th Grade Applicants

•  CCA is extremely selective in acceptance of students for their junior year of classes.  A student's previous records must be very strong and the student must have positive references concerning work ethic, character, adaptability, and English language ability from their previous school.  Due to CCA's small student population, the class schedule is fairly limited in flexibility.  Therefore, if the remaining classes a student needs for graduation do not fit in the school schedule, the student will not be accepted regardless of records and recommendations.  Few students transferring from an educational system other than the US system will be accepted this late in their academic career.

D) 12th Grade Applicants

•  CCA does not accept students for their senior year of classes except in rare circumstances.  Students who would be transferring from an educational system other than the US system will not be considered under any circumstances. 


Transfer Students from a Panamanian school All applicants parents/Guardian's must agree to have their child taught in the context of CCA's statement of faith. Students with special educational needs are generally not accepted into the school.

Students are normally only admitted at the beginning of CCA's school year.

    reached 2 and one half years of age.
•  Must be 4 years of age by September 30th.

•  We do not promote local student in January to the next grade level due to the difference in the academic calendar
•  Must be Proficient in English
•  Must have a "4" average in all subjects.
•  Must pass an academic examination and interview

C) 11th -12th Grade Applicants

•  Students who would be transferring from an educational system other than the US system will not be considered under any circumstances. 



Admissions Process

Step 1

To begin the admissions process, the application and all documents must be submitted. You may submit your paperwork electronically by emailing it to evillarrueta@ccapanama.org.

In order for your paperwork to be processed you must pay $50. Please make your payment through PayPal.

Step 2

Once all documents and application fee have been received, the application will be reviewed by our admissions committee. If the applicant is a candidate for enrollment and space is available, you will be contacted to schedule an entrance exam and interview.

The applicant must pass the entrance exam and interview in order to be admitted. All enrollment decisions are based on whether the school can meet the individual needs of the student.  

Admission to CCA does not guarantee continued enrollment. Students are evaluated at the end of each school year to determine if they will be accepted into the next level.
