Admission Policy
Admission to CCA is not on the basis of race, color, or ethnic origin; however, the academy maintains the right to refuse admittance to anyone who fails to meet entrance requirements.
For the next school year: Student application must be filled out completely and submitted together with a copy of the birth certificate or passport, school's report cards from the previous three years, if applicable results of standardized tests, special needs assessments, health certificate and immunization record.
- Transfer Students from a Panamanian school. Students are normally only admitted at the beginning of CCA's school year. We do not accept local student in January.
- Must have a "3" average in all subjects
- Must have a "3" or above in English
- Application is evaluated by the Admissions Office
- Must take entrance exam and math placement test.
- Transfer Students from a US, Canada or recognized English language International school. Students will be tested for admission at anytime.
- Must have a "C" average in all subjects
- Must have a "C" or above in core subjects
- Application is evaluated by the Admissions Office.
- Must take entrance exam and math placement test.
- Pre-K and K applicants
- Program runs from 7:45 - 11:25
- Must be potty trained
- Must pre-register for Grade 1 by paying a $450 registration deposit (non-refundable unless job transfer out of Panama.)
- Must be of age by September 30 th
- Admission is only at the beginning of August unless transferring from outside Panama or an international school.
- All applicants.
- If the applicant meets the above criteria and an opening exists for the next school year, he/she will be scheduled for testing/interview in March, May, or July
- Students applying for K4 are interviewed for their readiness to learn
- Students applying for K5 are evaluated for the English proficiency required to function in an English speaking learning environment
- Parents must agree to have their child taught in the context of the Statement of Faith subscribed to by the CCA
- Students applying for Gr. 1-12 are required to take English and mathematics proficiency and placement examinations
- Students with special educational needs are generally not accepted into the school
- Parents and student must meet with the school administration
- Parent will be notified of admission by the school office
- Admission to CCA does not guarantee continued enrollment. Students are evaluated at the end of each school year to determine if they will be accepted into the next level.
- Students who fail the English proficiency test may ask for a retest. This test can be taken no sooner than 3 months and within 6 months. The retest fee of $70.00 is payable within 30 days of the first test. If the student passes the retest he/she will be eligible for admission on the first available opening after successfully passing the entrance exam.
